Although its value as an element of garden design is sometimes overlooked, fencing is an integral part of both the aesthetics and usefulness of your garden. Garden fencing will likely differ between the front and back of properties, with taller and more strong wooden fencing typically being installed in the rear garden, while the front of the property usually makes use of more compact and more ornamental fencing. Fencing for the front of the home tends to have a low height and large gaps between the wooden slats. Additionally, it is often coloured to enhance its ornamental effect.
Fencing in the back garden is frequently used for privacy and to maintain the boundaries of a garden, as well as to keep pets or other small animals or wildlife either in or out. For this reason, these kinds of fences are about 6 feet high and use wooden slats without gaps in between. Due to the increased height, these fences often have concrete footings laid between each section to provide stability which will help prevent the fence from blowing over or being damaged in poor weather.
Garden fencing sections are generally constructed from wood. The posts in between the panels are manufactured from either wood, stone, or concrete. Recently, fence panels have started to be made of heavily recycled and sustainable composite materials such as recycled bamboo.

Barnehurst is a town and district in South East London within the London Borough of Bexley. It is north east of Bexleyheath, and is 13 miles east south-east of Charing Cross. It is separated from North Bexleyheath by the A220 Erith Road.
The town was established following the sale of land in 1881 to build the Bexleyheath loop line between Lewisham and Dartford. Its name stems from the name of the railway station, which was named after Colonel Barne, who owned a nearby property and was vice-chairman of the railway company. Nowadays, the railway station runs trains between London Charing Cross, London Victoria or London Cannon Street, by means of Lewisham and Eltham to the west and Dartford railway station to the east. There are 12 trains per hour throughout the week; on Sundays, there are 4 trains per hour. The railway station was openedto stimulate the creation of homes. The Barnehurst Estate was constructed in 1926 which housed several individuals.
As well as the railway station, Barnehurst is served by five buses, 1 of which goes to the well-liked Bluewater Shopping Centre. There are limited buying or leisure opportunities within the town, so people often visit surrounding areas employing public transport links or the primary roads.
Barnehurst is home for the non-league football club Phoenix Sports FC, which plays at Phoenimx Sports Ground.
