Although its value as an element of garden design is often ignored, fencing is an integral part of both the aesthetics and practicality of your garden. Garden fencing tends to differ between the front and rear of properties, with taller and more strong wood fencing frequently being used in the rear garden, while the front of the home generally employs smaller sized and more ornamental fencing. Fencing for the front of the home tends to have a low height and large spaces between the wooden slats. Additionally, it is often stained to improve its ornamental effect.
Fencing in the back garden is frequently used for privacy and to preserve the borders of a garden, as well as to keep pets or other small animals or wildlife either in or out. Due to this, these varieties of fences are around 6 feet high and use wooden slats without spaces in between. Due to the added height, these fences commonly have concrete footings laid in between each section to offer stability which will help prevent the fence from blowing over or being broken in poor weather.
Garden fencing panels are generally constructed from wood. The posts in between the panels are manufactured from either wood, stone, or concrete. More recently, fence panels have started to be made of heavily recycled and eco friendly composite materials such as recycled bamboo.

Acton is a district in the London Borough of Ealing in west London. It’s 6.1 miles west of Charing Cross. At the 2011 census, Acton had a population of 62,480 – a ten year increase of 8,791 people.
Acton means ‘oak farm’ or ”farm by oak trees’, and comes from old English. It was originally an ancient village, and as London expanded it was absorbed into the city. Since 1965, Acton has been part of the east of Ealing, but some parts of East Acton are in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and a small part of South Acton is inside the London Borough of Hounslow. Acton is one of the places with the most stations bearing their name anywhere within the country, with seven stations including its name.
Central Acton is called the hub of commerce and retail on the former principal road between London and Oxford, called the Uxbridge Road. The main road consists of a great deal of inns, which go as far back to the late Tudor period as stopping places for travellers. Now, the A40 dual carriageway is the primary route from London to Oxford, and it bypasses central Acton. It still passes by way of East Acton and North Acton.
Acton is home to the largest housing estate in West London, named the South Acton estate, with approximately 2,000 homes and 5,800 residents. The region is presently in phase 2 of a significant 15-year phased regeneration which consists of almost total demolition of the existing residential units and the building of new and much more residences. This is likely to boost its population even more.
