Patios remain an extremely widely used method of creating practical outdoor spaces which can be used for entertaining, dining, or just to enhance the attractiveness of your garden. Patios are created from block or slab paving and are available in a huge range of colours, patterns and designs. Patios can be laid in either random course patterns where the pattern is varied, or in repeating patterns that have a consistent effect. Patios are extremely durable and need minimal maintenance, only infrequent cleaning to protect the natural beauty of the stone. Patios are often installed in locations where patio or French doors can open directly out onto them as this brings about a seamless transition between the inside and outside spaces.
Patios come in a wide range of colours and types of stone. Consider including a different colour and type of stone to either inlay a fashionable design or as edging to emphasise the shape of your patio. It is vital to consider the use of your patio when designing it and measure accurately to ensure that any furniture will fit the intended space. Specialist patio and paving companies can design you a patio that perfectly fulfills your requirements and creates an outdoor area that is functional as well as beautiful.

Hexham is a market town and civil parish in the English county of Northumberland. It lies south of the River Tyne, and was the administrative centre for the Tynedale area from 1974 to 2009. Smaller towns and villages neighboring Hexham include Corbridge, Riding Mill, Stocksfield and Wylam to the east, Acomb and Bellingham to the north, Allendale to the south and Haydon Bridge, Bardon Mill and Haltwhistle towards the west. Newcastle upon Tyne is approximately 25 miles (40 kilometres) to the east. With mention to the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent population of approximately 11829. Hexham’s architectural landscape is led by Hexham Abbey. The present church largely dates from around 1170, built in the Early English Gothic style of architecture. The choir, north and south transepts and the cloisters, where canons studied and meditated, date from this period. The east end was restored in 1860. The abbey stands at the west side of the market place, which is home to the Shambles, a Grade II covered market constructed in 1766 by Sir Walter Blackett. At the east end of the market place is the Moot Hall, a 15th-century gatehouse that was part of the town’s defences. The Moot Hall is a Grade I listed building, and was put to use as a court house till 1838. The Moot Hall now houses the Council offices of the Museums Department and the ground floor is an art gallery open to hire. Hexham won the Town award in the 2005 Britain in Bloom awards. In the same year Hexham was also called ‘England’s Favourite Market Town’ by the publication ‘Country Life’.
