Paving is a popular way of creating bespoke and appealing spaces in your garden. Hard wearing and resilient, paving offers an effective way of providing spaces for eating or socialising, or it can simply be used as a low maintenance replacement for grass. Paving is also ideal for providing access to different areas of your garden, and is perfect for use if you’ve got a gated side alley with your home, or for creating a path across your lawn.Garden paving is available in many styles and types of stone. Whether you select marble, granite, limestone, slate, or sandstone, there will be a type of stone to fit your needs. Garden paving can also be found in vitrified tile, which is a form of very hard wearing porcelain tile suitable for outdoor use. When choosing your paving options, make sure to speak to several companies and manufacturers to ensure that you select the perfect style for your garden. Also consider using a differing style for detailing or edging, and choose a pattern that enhances your space and attracts focus on any features you want to highlight.Laying paving is a relatively easy project, but it does require a foundation to be laid that is level and able to support the weight of the paving as well as of any furniture you would like to have on top of the paving.

Get Aldgate [pros|landscapers]

Aldgate is an area in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and partly the City of London. It was the eastern-most gateway via the London Wall leading from the City of London to Whitechapel along with the East End of London. It gave its name to a City ward bounded by White Kennet Street towards the north and Crutched Friars in the south. The district’s name was 1st recorded in 1052 as ‘East gate’, but became Alegate by 1108. In the 16th century, John Stow derived the name from ‘Old Gate’. But Henry Harben, writing in 1918, stated that this was incorrect and that documents show an alternative variation written prior to 1486-7. Other meanings include ‘Ale Gate’, in association with an ale-house or ‘All Gate’, meaning the gate was free to all.It is thought that the gate at Aldgate spanned the road to Colchester during the Roman period, when London Wall was constructed. The gateway stood in the corner of the modern day Duke’s palace on the east side of the city. It was rebuilt in between 1108 and 1147, and again in 1215. It was reconstructed completely between 1607 and 1609 in a more classical style. As the other London gates, Aldgate was chained in 1377 as a result of concerns about attacks from the French. The gate was eventually removed in 1761 and temporarily re-erected in Bethnal Green.
