Wooden decking is an increasingly common choice for providing outdoor seating areas in gardens. Due to the natural beauty of wood, they can be very fashionable spaces that can be used year round with the help of outside heating and lighting. Wooden decking is frequently fitted in locations in front of patio or French doors where they can create a smooth transition between inside and outside spaces. Wooden decking can come in virtually any size or shape to fit any area. Curved designs or large areas linked by pathways can produce a stunning effect. Wooden decking is fairly simple to install and causes minimal disruption, especially in comparison to other possibilities like patio or paving. It can even be installed over the top of a pre-existing patio. It is critical however to be certain that your wooden decking is structurally sound and able to take the weight of any furniture or plants that you would like to use on the decking. There is a choice of varieties of wood that can be used in wooden decking. Usually decking is made of hardwood, but there are softwoods available that fulfil the durability requirements. As hardwood decking will require maintenance, which commonly includes yearly cleaning and staining for weather proofing, composite woods have become popular for use in wooden decking as they are more robust and require far less maintenance.

Get Aldgate [pros|landscapers]

Aldgate is a district within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and partly the City of London. It was the eastern-most gateway by means of the London Wall leading from the City of London to Whitechapel and the East End of London. It gave its name to a City ward bounded by White Kennet Street towards the north and Crutched Friars in the south. The district’s name was initially recorded in 1052 as ‘East gate’, but became Alegate by 1108. In the sixteenth century, John Stow derived the name from ‘Old Gate’. But Henry Harben, writing in 1918, said that this was wrong and that documents show a different variation written prior to 1486-7. Other meanings include ‘Ale Gate’, connected with an ale-house or ‘All Gate’, which means the gate was free to everybody. It is thought that a gate at Aldgate spanned the road to Colchester in the Roman period, when London Wall was constructed. The gateway stood at the corner of the modern day Duke’s palace on the east side of the city. It was rebuilt between 1108 and 1147, and again in 1215. It was reconstructed entirely between 1607 and 1609 in a more classical style. Like the other London gates, Aldgate was chained in 1377 as a consequence of concerns about attacks from the French. The gate was eventually removed in 1761 and temporarily re-erected in Bethnal Green.
