Although its significance as an aspect of garden design is often ignored, fencing is a vital part of both the appearance and practicality of your garden. Garden fencing will differ between the front and rear of properties, with taller and more tough timber fencing generally being used in the rear garden, while the front of the home typically employs smaller and more decorative fencing. Fencing for the front of the home tends to feature a low height and large gaps between the wooden slats. It is also often painted to improve its decorative effect. Fencing in the back garden is frequently used for privacy and to preserve the boundaries of a garden, as well as to keep pets or other small animals or wildlife either in or out.
