Wooden decking is an increasingly common option for creating outdoor seating areas in gardens. Because of the natural beauty of wood, they can be very elegant spaces which can be used year round by using additional heating and light. Wooden decking is usually installed in locations in front of patio or French doors where they can create a seamless transition between inside and outside spaces. Wooden decking can come in any size or shape to complement any area. Curved designs or large areas connected by pathways can create a stunning effect.
Wooden decking is fairly simple to install and causes minimal disruption, especially when compared to alternatives like patio or paving. It can even be installed over the top of a pre-existing patio. It is important however to make sure that your wooden decking is structurally sound and able to take the load of any furniture or plants that you would like to use on the decking.
There is a collection of varieties of wood that can be used in wooden decking. Often decking is made of hardwood, but there are softwoods available that fulfil the durability requirements. As hardwood decking will need maintenance, which generally requires yearly cleaning and staining for weather proofing, composite woods have become popular for use in wooden decking as they are stronger and require significantly less maintenance.

Leatherhead is a town in Surrey, England on the right edge of the river Mole, and at the edge of the adjoining built-up area of London. The town covers a total area of around 4.84 square miles. Its regional district is Mole Valley. Records exist of the region from Anglo Saxon England. Just north-east of the midpoint of Surrey and at a junction of ancient north– south and east– west roads, components of the town have actually been a focus for transport throughout its history. A major early spur to this was the building and construction of the bridge over the seasonally passable River Mole in the early medieval time period. Afterward the Swan Hotel provided 300 years of service to horse-drawn coaches. In the late 20th century the M25 motorway was constructed close by. In accordance with the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent population of around 11316 people. The town has re-developed occasionally through changing financial needs and planning. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Mole Valley District Council made strategies to modernise the town, with a new pedestrianised high street and a sizeable one-way system. It has a merged theatre and cinema. Leatherhead’s countless business properties create lunchtime demand and its eateries and theatre draw in people from around Surrey. The undulating streetscape lends itself more to warm summer nights. The theatre (see listed here) is a cinema and also has art exhibitions. The bypass streets to the town centre close and feature each year in the London-Surrey cycle classic which is ranked by the world’s cycling federation. For all your home improvements, be sure to find trusted specialists in Leatherhead to make certain of quality.
