PVCu decking is an increasingly common choice for creating outdoor seating areas in gardens. Due to the beauty of the wood effect, they can be very fashionable areas that can be used year round with the addition of outside heating and illumination. PVCu decking is commonly fitted in locations in front of patio or French doors where they can create a smooth transition between inside and outside spaces. PVCu decking is available in virtually any size or shape to complement any area. Curved designs or large areas joined by pathways can produce an impressive effect. PVCu decking is relatively simple to install and causes minimal disruption, especially when compared to other possibilities like patio or paving. It could even be installed over the top of a pre-existing patio. It is important however to make certain that your PVCu decking is structurally sound and capable of taking the load of any furniture or plants that you would like to use on the decking. There is a variety of varieties of wood effect that can be used in PVCu decking. Normally decking is constructed from plastic. As plastic decking will require maintenance, which usually involves annual cleaning and staining for weather proofing, composite woods are becoming popular for use in PVCu decking because they are more robust and require far less maintenance.

Kenley is a district in the south of the London Borough of Croydon (historically in Surrey). Kenley is set 13 miles south of Charing Cross. Significant sections of Kenley lie within the Metropolitan Green Belt. In particular, the south of Kenley is dominated by the open green spaces of Kenley Common and Kenley Aerodrome. The 2011 census noted Kenley having a population of 14,966. For centuries, Kenley became part of Coulsdon Manor which covered the entire area and was predominantly farm land, with a couple of large homes and their estates. The official opening of the railway on 4 August 1856 transformed Kenley. The brand-new railway triggered urban development. By the end of the Victorian era, Kenley had assumed its own identity. Kenley Common constitutes fifty-six hectares of green open space surrounding a previous Battle of Britain airfield. It is a mixture of chalk grassland and ancient woodland set among gently rolling hills. Blessed with fine views across the Caterham valley and the North Downs beyond, visitors find it difficult to believe that the centre of London is just 14 miles to the north. Amongst Kenley’s landmark buildings is the Memorial Hall. It was opened in 1922 to celebrate those who gave their lives in World War I. It was subsequently extended and re-opened by Group Captain Douglas Bader in 1975. Hammond Innes’ book Attack Alarm was based on his experiences as a Royal Artillery anti-aircraft gunner at RAF Kenley during the Battle of Britain. It contains graphic descriptions of the station and attacks on it in 1940. English Heritage defined Kenley as the “most complete fighter airfield linked to the Battle of Britain to have actually survived”.
