Patios remain an extremely successful method of creating functional outdoor spaces that you can use for entertaining, dining, or simply to enhance the appeal of your garden. Patios are made from block or slab paving and can come in a huge assortment of colours, patterns and designs. Patios can be laid in either random course patterns where the pattern is varied, or in repeating patterns that have a consistent effect. Patios are very durable and require minimal maintenance, only occasional cleaning to maintain the natural beauty of the stone. Patios are generally installed in locations where patio or French doors can open directly out onto them as this causes a seamless transition between the inside and outside spaces.
Patios come in a wide variety of colours and types of stone. Give some thought to including a different colour and kind of stone to either inlay a stylish design or as edging to emphasise the shape of your patio. It is crucial to consider the use of your patio when designing it and measure accurately to be sure that any furniture will fit the intended space. Expert patio and paving companies will be able to design you a patio that perfectly fulfills your requirements and creates an outdoor area that is useful as well as beautiful.

Darvel or Dervel (population 3,361) is a small town in East Ayrshire, Scotland. It goes to the eastern end of the Irvine Valley and also is sometimes referred to as “The Lang Toon” (English: the Long Town). The community’s Latin motto, Non sibi sed cunctis, indicates “Except ourselves, however, for others”. Darvel is positioned on the A71 roadway that runs from Irvine on the west coastline to Edinburgh on the east. The town is 9 miles (14 km) eastern of Kilmarnock and also is one of the most easterly of the Valley Towns, the others being Galston as well as Newmilns. The community was also as soon as related to Stonehouse (by means of Strathaven) by the Caledonian Railway. However, the line was closed by the LMS prior to the 2nd World War. The former Glasgow and also South Western Train branch line to Kilmarnock survived for much longer and also was enclosed 1964 as part of the Beeching Axe. Much of the path of both the old train lines is still in existence, although the rails have long since gone and numerous road bridges have been removed. There was a big viaduct to the eastern of the town, in the lea of Loudoun Hill, which carried the railway line over the valley. This was however, knocked down in 1986, as well as just the piers continue to be. The River Irvine streams through the community and when powered local mills.
