Fencing

While its importance as an element of garden design is sometimes disregarded, fencing is a vital part of both the aesthetics and usefulness of your garden. Garden fencing will likely differ between the front and back of properties, with taller and more secure timber fencing frequently being installed in the rear garden, while the front of the property typically features smaller and more ornamental fencing. Fencing for the front of the home tends to feature a low height and large gaps between the wooden slats. Also, it is often coloured to enhance its decorative effect. Fencing in the back garden is often used for privacy and to maintain the boundaries of a garden, as well as to keep domestic pets or other small animals or wildlife either in or out. Because of this, these types of fences are approximately 6 feet high and use wooden slats with no gaps in between. Because of the increased height, these fences commonly have concrete footings laid between each section to provide strength and stopping the fence from blowing over or being damaged in poor weather. Garden fencing sections are generally constructed from wood. The posts in between the panels are produced from either timber, stone, or concrete. More recently, fence panels have started to be constructed from heavily recycled and eco friendly composite materials such as recycled bamboo.
