Astro Turf

Astro Turf, or artificial turf, is used in place of natural grass. Astro Turf is the name of the first artificial turf that was created by Monsanto, but it quickly became a popular name for artificial turf generally. Astro turf consists of synthetic fibres with a combination of sand and recycled rubber granules as infills. It is employed extensively in sports applications, such as on football and rugby pitches, tennis courts and even golf courses. There are a growing variety of industrial applications for astro turf, including office buildings, concerts and festivals and department stores.
