Patios remain an extremely fashionable way of creating practical outdoor spaces which can be used for socialising, dining, or simply to enhance the beauty of your garden. Patios are created from block or slab paving and can come in a large variety of colours, patterns and designs. Patios can be laid in either random course patterns where the pattern is varied, or in repeating patterns that have a consistent effect. Patios are extremely durable and need hardly any maintenance, only infrequent cleaning to preserve the natural beauty of the stone. Patios are often installed in locations where patio or French doors can open directly out onto them as this creates a seamless transition between the inside and outside spaces.
Patios come in a huge assortment of colours and types of stone. Give some thought to introducing a different colour and kind of stone to either inlay a fashionable design or as edging to complement the shape of your patio. It is vital to consider the use of your patio when designing it and measure precisely to ensure that any furniture will fit the intended space. Professional patio and paving companies will be able to design you a patio that perfectly meets your requirements and creates an outdoor area that is practical as well as beautiful.

Helmsdale is a village on the east coast of Sutherland, in the Highland council area of Scotland. The village is on the A9 road, at a junction with the A897, and has a railway station on the Far North Line. Buses run approximately every 2 hours Mondays-Saturdays and sometimes on Sundays from Helmsdale to Brora, Golspie, Dornoch, Tain and Inverness in the south and Berriedale, Dunbeath, Halkirk, Thurso and Scrabster in the north. West Helmsdale lies on the river from the main village above the railway station. Old Helmsdale is immediately to the north while East Helmsdale is a settlement barely a mile to the east. Helmsdale is a fishing port at the estuary of the River Helmsdale, and was as soon as the home of one of the largest herring fleets in Europe. The river itself is known for its fishing. Helmsdale Castle, the remains of which were destroyed in the 1970s in order to develop the new A9 road bridge, was the area of the murder of the 11th Earl of Sutherland in 1567. The Earl and his Countess Marie Seton were poisoned by Isobel Sinclair. The modern-day village was planned in 1814 to resettle groups that had actually been cleared away from the surrounding straths as part of the Highland Clearances. Facilities in Helmsdale feature an independent hostel, a heritage centre, an art gallery, and an inn. Helmsdale is renowned for its Highland Games which are celebrated on the third Saturday in August annually. Best known is the evening Marquee Dance when the village population of 700 more than doubles due to visitors going to the dance. Helmsdale is also the home of Bunillidh Thistle F.C. and Helmsdale United. For all of your home enhancements, be sure to identify credible specialists in Helmsdale to make certain of quality.
