While its significance as an element of garden design is often ignored, fencing is a key part of both the appearance and useability of your garden. Garden fencing will likely differ between the front and back of properties, with higher and more tough wood fencing typically being placed in the rear garden, while the front of the property typically employs more compact and more ornamental fencing. Fencing for the front of the home tends to feature a low height and large spaces between the wooden slats. Also, it is often coloured to enhance its decorative effect.Fencing in the back garden is often used for privacy and to maintain the borders of a garden, as well as to keep domestic pets or other small animals or wildlife either in or out. Due to this, these sorts of fences are approximately 6 feet high and use wooden slats without gaps in between. Due to the additional height, these fences usually have concrete footings laid between each section to offer strength preventing the fence from blowing over or being ruined in bad weather.Garden fencing panels are generally made of wood. The posts in between the sections are made from either wood, stone, or concrete. More recently, fence panels have started to be made of heavily recycled and sustainable composite materials such as recycled bamboo.

Darvel or Dervel (population 3,361) is a town in East Ayrshire, Scotland. It goes to the eastern end of the Irvine Valley and also is sometimes described as “The Lang Toon” (English: the Long Town). The community’s Latin slogan, Non sibi sed cunctis, indicates “Except ourselves, but also for others”. Darvel is positioned on the A71 roadway that runs from Irvine on the west coast to Edinburgh on the eastern. The town is 9 miles (14 km) east of Kilmarnock and also is the most easterly of the Valley Towns, the others being Galston as well as Newmilns. The town was likewise when linked with Stonehouse (through Strathaven) by the Caledonian Railway. Nevertheless, the line was closed by the LMS prior to the 2nd World War. The previous Glasgow as well as South Western Train branch line to Kilmarnock made it through for a lot longer and also was enclosed 1964 as part of the Beeching Axe. Much of the route of both the old railway lines is still in existence, although the rails have long since gone and lots of roadway bridges have been removed. There was a big viaduct to the eastern of the town, in the lea of Loudoun Hill, which carried the train line over the valley. This was however, demolished in 1986, as well as just the piers continue to be. The River Irvine moves with the town as well as once powered regional mills.
